What started as a simple thank-you gesture has grown into one of the most creative and community-driven projects in the COTI ecosystem: COTI Heroes — a mythology-inspired NFT collection where real people become superheroes.
Born out of passion, gratitude, and a deep connection to the COTI community, the project has evolved from an experiment into a collectible universe of characters — each brimming with lore, symbolism, and emotional resonance.
How It All Began
The creators — a couple who entered the crypto space together in 2020 — discovered COTI through its DJED stablecoin initiative on Cardano. But what struck them most wasn’t just the tech. It was the community.
“Supportive, innovative, and always ready to help, this space became our digital home,” shared project founder Mr. Aertske.
From that spark, things grew quickly. Mr Aertske, founder of COTI Heroes, began imagining a full universe, diving deep into the lore of a world shaped by balance, identity, and tension. The result? An epic collection of digital characters: gods ,heroes and villains from diverse backgrounds, each with unique powers and stories, woven together into a bigger mythology. But as NFT superheroes?
Thanks to the launch of Crafter and the tools on COTI Network, that idea became reality.
When we asked Mr. Aertske about the inspiration behind it all, he shared:
"With the release of Crafter, we felt inspired to thank some of the community’s most dedicated members — not just with words, but by turning them into something eternal: NFT superheroes. After all, they were the true heroes, always there with guidance and encouragement."
A Universe Built from Lore and Identity
With time, the vision expanded. Mr. Aertske began building a full narrative world around the project — a universe defined by the eternal conflict between order and chaos. From that tension emerged three archetypes:

- Villains, representing temptation, greed, or imbalance
Each character carries a distinct origin story, visual language, and symbolic power. From the haunting stillness of Echoflare to the cerebral presence of Professor Unity, every creation is rooted in personality and purpose.
Duality Conflict: The First Drop
The debut collection, titled Duality Conflict, launched with:

It sold out entirely, signaling a strong response from both collectors and COTI fans. But the drop wasn’t just a sales event. It was a narrative catalyst.

What started as a tribute has grown into living lore — inviting the community to imagine who they’ll become: a hero, a villain, or something entirely new.
